Beyond Pick Up

I was talking to a friend and I think that we’ve come to an agreement on what connection between a man and a woman could be like. Imagine that a guy and a girl is talking. It doesn’t matter where they are, whether it be in a crowded place or not. Imagine that they are just talking, not minding what’s happening on their surrounding and just really listening to what each other is saying.

Laughter, teasing, telling each other stories, knowing about their past and sharing what you guys want to do in the future. No judgments just being open and just being free. And this goes on and on until the wee hours of the morning.

Seems surreal right, but It is much like what we’ve had experienced and what we’ve been longing for ever since.

At an article in Psychology Today called Generic Love (Click Here For Article). The writer have said that… sometimes love isn’t really about the chemistry or the romantic feelings that we are always longing for rather it is just about someone who can just accept us for who we are.

A large portion of mammals are polygamous… and that includes us humans. But somewhere along the way society has given us this norm of marriage and cohabitation. It seems like we need it.

We are social creatures and that we need to express and we need someone who would bear to be there with us through everything that we want to express whether that be through art, arguments, sexual desire etc. Someone who appreciates our shit and is happy to be the one expressed it with.

If you are looking to be in a long term relationship this kind of understanding is needed.

Some guys go and list down the things that they want in a partner. There’s no harm in that. Some guys don’t even know what they want but like a miracle they can meet someone and just have good connection with that girl.

What I really think is the sign that a guy and a girl could have a good connection and good understanding is that you are happy with every shit that they give to each other. And by happy it doesn’t mean that you are all smiles everytime a partner expresses something, it’s just that you know where she’s coming from and that you are glad about it, and that you know exactly what to respond because you understand her.

Sometimes relationships fall through because one party can no longer tolerate and even understand where the other person is coming from.

It is much like a mindset of a businessman is very different from that of an employee. For an employee to understand the world of a businessman, each party should be open and come to an agreement that there are different realities that people live in. If any can’t find an agreement then they cannot have a good relationship with each other.
